This is Ironhack’s second group challenge, which is about designing a website for a local business. We chose to work on ‘Riviera Spa & Nails’

So, let’s begin…

About the client

Our client runs a spa business that offers in-home treatments, eliminating the need to visit a salon.
However, our client does not have a website, so their customers reach out to them through their different social media accounts to find information and book appointments.

Background

The process of discovering spa services and booking appointment are currently managed through social media, causing some confusion.

The main challenge is to make a website that’s easy to use and lets customers book appointments smoothly. We need to make sure it shows all the spa services clearly.

The goal it to make a website design match the business image and needs.

Stakeholder Interview

We started with a stakeholder interview so we could understand the business more and gather the vital insights we need to perform analysis

Stakeholder Interview Quotes

Competitive Analysis

For the competitive analysis, we analyze three of the current competitors to understand market dynamics and identify competitors’ strengths and weaknesses.

After conducting several interviews with individuals who had previously booked spa & nails treatments at home, we identified the most significant challenges they faced. We also used an affinity diagram to help us identify patterns and themes within our research findings. Following that, we developed our user persona.

Low & Mid Wireframes / Usability Testing Results and Insights

We started with the low-fidelity wireframes and tested them, but the results weren’t satisfying to the users. So, we iterated and improved them in the mid-fidelity wireframes, and after conducting usability testing, the results and feedback were positive.
