Wrapping up our final project & case study with Ironhack feels like finishing an amazing adventure book. I’m here to share the final case study for this project. Let’s get into it!

INTRODUCTION

So many of us face challenges finding the perfect outfit for occasions, whether it’s a big event or just for a casual day outfit.

Our main goal with this app is to connect users who struggle to pick the right outfit with the perfect stylist to help them and bring them together easily. so here is our process..

UX DESIGN PROCESS

COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS TO UNDERSTAND THE MARKET:

We selected 3 competitors: WISHI, COMBYNE, and YOUR WARDROBE apps. The insights:

In brand analysis:
Wishi is seen as a trusted platform for getting fashion advice.
Combyne is seen as a fun space for exploring fashion trends.
Your Wardrobe is seen as a practical and fashion clothing organization tool.

In feature analysis:
Wishi focuses on providing personal stylists without offering any additional content for users to engage with.
Combyne allows users to create and share outfits but doesn’t offer personal stylists.
Your Wardrobe offers users the ability to organize their clothing items.

In mapping the competitors:
We mapped out the competitors based on cost and diversity in content.
Wishi focuses on personal stylists,
Combyne on outfit creation,
Your Wardrobe on clothing organization.

To stand out, our app could offer a mix of fashion advice, trend exploration, outfit creation, personal stylists, and clothing organization features, giving users a complete fashion experience.

SURVEY TO UNDERSTAND THE USER’S PREFERENCES, BEHAVIORS, NEEDS, AND PAIN POINTS:

We collected 79 responses from users, and here are the insights we gathered:

USER INTERVIEWS:

We interviewed 4 users to understand their fashion preferences, shopping habits, and outfit challenges.
They all share a common trait: seeking opinions or assistance when choosing outfits or shopping. Some also struggle to find items that suit their body type. Here are some of their answers:

USER JOURNEY MAP:

PROBLEM STATEMENT:

We define our problem statement after the insights we had, which are about:

Individuals who need a fashion and style guidance.
they need to find suitable outfits that align with their body type, preferences, lifestyle, and fashion goals.
Because they want for find their unique style and to spend less time deciding on what to wear & selecting the right outfits with the help of professional assistance.

HMW:

In the ideation process, we asked how we can offer personalized outfit suggestions to make it easier for users to seek advice, match users with the right stylist, and help them find the perfect outfit without feeling stressed or overwhelmed.

MOSCOW & MVP:

MOSCOW

We used the MOSCOW method to figure out the most important features.
Next, by using the MVP approach, we set a goal for our app:

at the bare minimum, we want to create a user-friendly application that allows users to receive personalized fashion advice and styling recommendations from professional stylists, making it easy for them to understand their preferences.

USER FLOW:

USER FLOW

LOW-FIDELITY & MID-FIDELITY & FEEDBACK:

LOW-FIDELITY & MID-FIDELITY

Here’s our low and mid-fi. On the left, we improved the name of the page because it was not clear or specific. On the right, in the high fidelity version, we removed the preferences from the home page and added it to the settings, as it wasn’t necessary for the user to see it every time they open the app.

UI DESIGN PROCESS

VISUAL COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS:

In our visual competitive analysis, we’ve checked out our competitors’ logos, app designs, colors, fonts, and social media posts. It helps us figure out what looks good, what users like, and what makes things easy to use.

BRAND ATTRIBUTES & MOODBOARD:

we created our mood-board and we defined out brand attributes with explaining why we chose it.

STYLE TILE:

In the style tile, we selected the Raleway font because it’s modern and readable.

As for the colors, we went with black and white since we have a lot of visual content with different colors; black and white won’t distract the user from the content. Also, we chose orange for something bold that reflects our app’s personality.

HIGH- FIDELITY PROTOTYPE

1.

  • In the first user flow, the user lands on the sign-up and login page.
  • They complete a quiz once to let us know their preferences.
  • Next, they are directed to the Stylists page, where they can see the best match stylists or explore others based on style.
  • Users can book with a stylist through the stylist profile and send a request, similar to a chat experience.

Check out the video showcasing how it all works:

2.

  • User’s Wardrobe Page:
Users can preview their latest items and see their entire wardrobe when they click “View All”. (This feature allows users to keep track of their recently added items)
  • Measurements and Guide:
Helps users determine their body size and select the right size of clothes for online shopping. (Users can input their measurements and receive guidance on choosing what suits their body shape and size.)

  • “View All” to see everything they have in their wardrobe:
Wardrobe: Shows items that the user has uploaded.

Wishlist: Contains the wishlist where users can add notes about anything they want, such as missing items or making lists, all accessible in one place within the app.

3.

  • A fun section for exploring style, fashion, information, and tips.
  • Named “Get Inspired” to provide users with more style and fashion options.
  • Users can post, like, comment, and create mood boards.

NEXT STEPS:

  • Create the stylist flow and pages.
  • Add a fashion events calendar, including runway shows and sample sales.

Lastly, I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to my amazing teammates, Taif and Shaden. Thank you both for being awesome team members. Your support, hard work, and positive vibes made this project something I’m truly proud of. (っ◕‿◕)っ ♥
